Click It or Ticket
Click It or Ticket is a national seat belt enforcement campaign that has helped bring the overall seat belt use up to 85 percent, its highest rate ever. GHSA and its State Highway Safety Office (SHSO) members work closely with law enforcement agencies and other partners to support this important effort.
The campaign centers around an annual mobilization that takes place around Memorial Day. By combining stepped up law enforcement of state seat belt laws with national and state media campaigns, this mobilization helps boost seat belt use and reduce highway fatalities.
The Click It of Ticket message is aimed primarily at men ages 18 to 34, who research shows are less likely to wear seat belts. Statistics also indicate fewer people buckle up at night, so recent campaigns have focused on nighttime enforcement.
