WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) today announced that it has added two new staff members to its D.C.-based leadership team: Kerry Chausmer, Director of Programs and Member Services, and Adam Snider, Director of Communications.

Chausmer is one of the nation’s preeminent child passenger safety experts with more than 25 years of experience planning, implementing and evaluating injury prevention programs and managing national grants. She comes to GHSA after a 16-year career at Safe Kids Worldwide where she implemented and managed the gold-standard National Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Certification Program of almost 44,000 certified CPSTs.

In her position at GHSA, Chausmer is managing the association’s partnerships with Ford Motor Company Fund, Lyft, Responsibility.org, State Farm, Uber and numerous other entities. Additionally, she is charged with enhancing the services GHSA provides to its state highway safety office and associate members along with increasing member engagement.

Snider is leading GHSA’s communication effort following more than a decade as a journalist with Politico and Bloomberg BNA and more recently as a public affairs official with the American Association of Airport Executives and the Electrification Coalition. While at Politico, he launched the publication’s popular Morning Transportation newsletter, which covers Congress and the transportation sector.

At GHSA, Snider is charged with developing and executing communications strategies to enhance GHSA’s visibility and that of traffic safety. This includes overseeing media relations, external publications, the association’s website and social media.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kerry and Adam to GHSA,” said Executive Director Jonathan Adkins. “This is a challenging time in traffic safety due to the pandemic, equity issues and the need for Congress to reauthorize the surface transportation program. But there is also tremendous opportunity to prioritize traffic safety with the arrival of a new Administration. Kerry and Adam’s exceptional experience will help us meet these challenges and leverage opportunities as we work toward zero fatalities on our nation’s roadways.”
