Joe Feese is Director of Communications for GHSA, where he serves as the association's chief communications officer, developing and executing a broad communications strategy to increase visibility of GHSA's policies, activities and members. He manages print and electronic publications, website content, social media, media relations and the development of all promotional materials and presentations.
A journalist, writer and former public relations firm VP, Feese has more than 20 years' experience managing broad-based corporate and nonprofit communications campaigns in both Seattle and Washington, D.C. His expertise spans the spectrum of integrated communications, including brand storytelling, public relations, crisis management, executive communications, content development, creative design, and meetings and event promotion.
Prior to joining GHSA in 2019, Feese was Director of Communications for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), a 50,000-member professional association with a $50 million budget. At ASHP, Feese oversaw a diverse team in managing all aspects of strategic communications, including branding, public relations, issue advocacy and digital content strategy. Each year of his tenure, he increased membership growth, member engagement and satisfaction, and overall revenues. Additionally, he was honored with a 2018 International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Award for leading ASHP's 75th anniversary communications campaign.
Feese is a Pennsylvania native and a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications.
