Director, California Office of Traffic Safety
Rhonda Craft was elected Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) Vice Chair in February 2019. Craft has also served as the Chair of GHSA's Workforce Development and Technology Committee since 2014 and has been the Region 9 Representative since 2015.
Craft was appointed Director of the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) by Governor Jerry Brown and has 30 years of state service dedicated to addressing traffic safety issues throughout California. In this role, Craft is responsible for administering the State’s Highway Safety Plan and funds approximately 300 state and local agencies each year who implement data driven traffic safety initiatives.
In addition to serving as Vice Chair of GHSA, Craft is a member of the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Safety Center, helping to drive the mission to reduce injuries and save lives by empowering the community to make positive life-changing decisions. She also serves as a member of the Civil Engineering Industry Advisory Council for California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Prior to her role as OTS Director, Craft was Chief of the Driver Safety Branch at the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
