With emptied city streets and drivers getting on the open road, the pandemic has led to an increase in car speeding incidents. Highway deaths were also at their highest in more than a decade. “The longer this pandemic goes and the longer we don’t have as much traffic enforcement as we need, this becomes the new normal," said GHSA Executive Director Jonathan Adkins.
