Getting To & Around New York City

Three Airports Serve the New York City Region

LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is 9.5 miles from the hotel, Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is 16.5 miles from the hotel, and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is 18.5 miles from the hotel. We strongly recommend determining all transportation costs and the time involved in traveling from each airport to Midtown Manhattan before purchasing your ticket. For example, a ticket to JFK may be less expensive but getting to the hotel will take longer and be more expensive. For that reason, flying into and out of LaGuardia or Newark Liberty is strongly recommended.

Ground Transportation

All three airports offer a variety of transportation options.

Taxi: Taxi costs from LGA run approximately $30-40 plus the cost of tolls and tip. There is a $70 flat rate (plus surcharges, tolls and tip) for taxi rides to/from JFK. Taxis from EWR run approximately $50-$75 plus surcharges, tolls and tip.

Ride-hailing: All three airports are serviced by Uber and Lyft. The costs are comparable to taxi fares.

Train: JFK and EWR provide AirTrain service that connects the airport to subway service to Times Square or train service to Penn Station, which is 0.7 miles from the New York Marriott Marquis. The cost is approximately $12-$20 each way.

Bus: The Newark Airport Express bus runs from EWR to the NY Port Authority bus station (0.3 miles from the NY Marriott Marquis) approximately every 45 minutes. The cost is $18 one way or $30 roundtrip.

What to Wear

The average temperatures in New York City in August are 83°F (high) and 68°F (low). Meeting attire is business casual. We recommend dressing in layers, as hotel meeting room temperatures can fluctuate and some may find rooms cold. Casual attire is appropriate for all social events.
