Responsibilities

  • Manage departmental finances.  
  • Manage updates to website for traffic safety and government relations efforts
  • Provide facts and information for infographics and press statements on legislative and program efforts, as directed
  • Manage planning and logistics and on-site support for various meetings
  • Represent and coordinate logistics for Responsibility.org at various conferences
  • Liaison with Communications department to ensure regular updates of customer relationship management (NationBuilder) contacts.
  • Collaborate with Communications Department on social media planning and execution for Responsibility.org social media platforms.
  • Create monthly updates for staff, members, advisory boards and partners
  • Participate in program launches and engaging external partners in promotion of new Responsibility.org resources
  • Assist with event logistics, attendance and follow up communications
  • Participate in legislative efforts and relationship building activities
  • Build external stakeholder relationships and leverage them toward organizational goals
  • Schedule Capitol Hill meetings, Federal agency meetings as needed and provide follow up actions
  • Promote legislation in support of Responsibility.org positions by preparing and disseminating support letters and testimony to elected officials as directed
  • Research issues and data sources for legislative advocacy and traffic safety efforts as directed
  • Assist Director of Traffic Safety and Director of Government Relations with state legislative tracking, responses to state legislators and advocacy efforts as directed

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills necessary to work on diverse projects simultaneously
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite and various social media platforms
  • Possess knowledge of and experience with the legislative process
  • Have the ability to track legislation and analyze developments
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to network effectively with external stakeholders
  • Team player
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Energetic and highly motivated
  • Dependable and flexible
  • Ability to travel frequently
  • Experience with anti-drunk driving and/or underage drinking prevention a plus

Education:

  • College degree preferred
