The Regional Field Administrator for the Southern Service Center provides executive leadership over the Southern Region and is responsible for the effective operation of the regional office (Service Center) and eleven Division Offices in eleven southern states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee).
This position is located in the Southern Region.
As a principal advisor to the Associate Administrator for Safety, the position shapes and formulates strategies to address FMCSA's mission of reducing crashes through the effective delivery of crash reduction strategies, grant management, and motor carrier compliance reviews/investigations. In addition, leads national programs in Hazardous Materials compliance and Information Technology deployment. Ensures effective program delivery and performance management for investigations, audits, inspections and associated enforcement actions.
The Regional Field Administrator for the Southern region leads national teams and cultivates cooperative working relationships with stakeholders, Field Administrators and FMCSA executives to troubleshoot problems and resolve regional conflicts related to implementation of national policy. Meets with senior state elected and appointed officials to clarify and define interests and negotiate proposed settlements, or policy changes. Drives progressive change through expert change management techniques. Delivers process improvements and develops effective work products to drive positive change through systemic organizational excellence approaches.
