Summary

Under the direction of Technical Director and senior-level research associates at the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, the student interns will assist in carrying out traffic safety research in areas related to (1) emerging technologies, (2) vulnerable road users, (3) driver behavior, and performance, and (4) roadway systems and drivers. The student interns will be directly involved with on-going AAA Foundation research projects, as well as performing analytical tasks on specific traffic safety issues and documenting findings.

Qualifications

Working towards a Master’s or Doctoral degree in the fields of Engineering, Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, Data Science, or Statistics. Knowledge and background on one or more areas of traffic safety. Strong analytical skills with experience using data analysis software and/or computer simulation tools, including driving simulation and virtual reality. Effective oral and written communication skills. Willingness to learn and be adaptable to a variety of assignments. Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
