Aline Monroe brings a strong background in payroll, accounts payable and grant management to her role at GHSA, with a career built on accuracy, reliability and collaboration.
Her path into finance began unexpectedly. After starting college in 1998 as a nursing major, she entered the workforce earlier than planned – a turn that introduced her to accounting and launched a career she has built ever since. Her experience spans both the nonprofit and public sectors. At the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, she strengthened her technical and analytical skills while supporting educational research and service initiatives. She later joined the Virginia Railway Express (VRE), where she assisted with research for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), deepening her expertise in financial reporting and compliance.
Monroe returned to higher education to complete her degree, graduating from Strayer University in 2023 and earning Dean's List honors in multiple quarters along the way. Outside of work, she is the proud mother of three children and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is is a Washington, D.C. native who now resides in Prince George's County, Maryland.
