Kerry Chausmer serves as GHSA’s Programs & Member Services Director, leading the association’s federal and private‑sector grant work and strengthening member engagement. She oversees registration, sponsorships and the exhibition hall for GHSA’s Annual Meeting, and guides the day‑to‑day operations of multiple programs with support from GHSA staff and contractors to advance the association’s goals.
With over 30 years of experience in injury prevention program planning, implementation and evaluation, Kerry is widely recognized as a national leader in child passenger safety and a trusted voice in the traffic safety community. She brings expertise in project management and a long track record of building strong partnerships. Before joining GHSA, she spent 16 years at Safe Kids Worldwide, where she implemented and managed the gold‑standard National Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Certification Program. Her work is known for its vision, creativity, organization and the ability to connect people and ideas.
Kerry holds MSW and MPH degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans. One of the nation’s first certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians, she became a CPST Instructor (CPSTI) in 1998 and is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
