The Georgia Driver’s Education Commission Scholarship Program has been recognized for its outstanding leadership in expanding access to lifesaving driver education for young Georgians.
Since its launch, the program has helped more than 55,000 teen drivers, particularly those with financial need and youth in underserved communities, complete evidence-based classroom and behind-the-wheel training, supported by more than $17 million in scholarships.
Through innovative administration, strong partnerships, and a proven impact on reducing crashes, citations, and convictions among participants, GDEC has established a model program that is improving highway safety in Georgia and inspiring similar efforts nationwide.
