Promising Practices to Address Drowsy and Distracted Driving

Promising Practices to Address Drowsy and Distracted Driving
February 10 - 12, 2026 Virtual

Drowsy and distracted driving are persistent, but preventable, dangerous behaviors behind the wheel. GHSA, with the support of General Motors, is hosting two virtual information exchanges focused on finding and implementing solutions.

There are numerous examples of legislative, enforcement, education and technology strategies that are being used across the country to address these issues and bring down their prevalence. As states put together their upcoming Triennial Highway Safety Plans, GHSA and GM are holding two virtual information exchanges to highlight and share successful programs that can serve as inspiration and models that other states can use in their program planning.

These information exchanges will be held on February 10 and February 12, 2-4 p.m. Eastern. Participants are welcome to join at any time during the session and will be encouraged to share their own successful programs.
