HERO Campaign logo

The mission of the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign is to prevent drunk driving tragedies by promoting the use of safe and sober designated drivers. It was founded by the family of Navy Ensign John R. Elliott of Egg Harbor Township, who was killed in a head-on collision with a drunk driver just two months after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy. The HERO Campaign works in New Jersey and surrounding states in partnership with law enforcement agencies; high schools; colleges/universities; federal and state highway safety organizations; sporting venues; and professional sports teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies, the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
