Louisville Metro Public Works is responsible for maintaining the city's infrastructure in the public right-of-way through management of construction projects, operation and maintenance of over 1,000 traffic signals, road construction and maintenance, roadway signs and markings, solid waste and recycling collection, cleanliness initiatives, snow removal, transportation planning, windstorm debris recovery and removal, as well as implementing initiatives to ensure safer and more efficient roadways.
