Pedestrian Traffic Deaths About 50% Than a Decade Ago

In 2024-2025, GHSA partnered with the National Road Safety Foundation (NRSF) to provide a $25,000 grant to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) to launch a new bi-county pedestrian and bicycle education program for Pre-K through middle school students in Garfield and Asotin Counties, two rural counties in Washington.

In 2024-2025, through the support of the National Road Safety Foundation (NRSF), GHSA awarded a $25,000 grant to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to expand their bike safety education in rural Douglas County through the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program led by Thrive Umpqua, in partnership with the Douglas Education Service District (DESD).

In 2024-2025, through the support of the National Road Safety Foundation (NRSF), GHSA awarded a $25,000 grant to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) to deliver traffic garden events at rural and high-priority elementary schools across Missouri.
