Autonomous Vehicle (AV) First Responder Resources

As more autonomous vehicles (AV) are deployed to U.S. roads, first responders need to be prepared to identify and safely engage with driverless vehicles. Currently, AVs operate fully autonomously in areas of five states, will soon be deployed in four additional states and have started testing with human drivers in another five. GHSA has partnered with the leading AV developers to share online resources and self-paced virtual training developed specifically for first responders.

Aurora

When working with first responders, it is important to ensure they understand how Aurora’s self-driving trucks work and situations in which they could interact with these trucks on the road. Aurora has dedicated First Responder Interaction team members who are exclusively responsible for collaboration with law enforcement and emergency personnel, which includes conducting trainings to help them understand our products and services.
