The Operations Manager plays an integral role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the GHSA office, supporting and assisting with internal staff projects, and managing logistics associated with certain activities including meetings and events. In addition, the Operations Manager will assist with CEO special projects and senior staff speaking engagements. Duties include:

  • Manage office operations, which include effectively using technology to schedule a variety of meetings with external stakeholders, building services and conference space requests, scheduling and handling logistics for monthly staff meetings and a variety of other internal meetings, ordering supplies and coordinating IT support.
  • Work with the CEO and Senior Director of Government Relations and Policy on special projects, including managing speaking engagements for all senior staff.
  • Support the CEO, Sr. Director of External Engagement and Senior Director of Government Relations and Policy to schedule partner and Congressional meetings and prepare and print meeting materials.
  • Coordinate the creation of the CEO report for board meetings and prepare the CEO’s meeting binder.
  • Assist with the annual Roadway Safety Awards nomination and review process.
  • Schedule GHSA committee meetings in collaboration with the staff liaisons and chairs.
  • Assist with AMS system management, including adding contacts and updating information in collaboration with the Director of Member Services and Programs.
  • Manage invitations, registration/RSVPs and related communications for select GHSA events and meetings and prepare and print materials, such as agendas, certificates of completion, name tags/table tents and sign-in sheets.
  • Manage supply purchases and material shipping for GHSA’s Annual Meeting.
  • Handle webinar logistics including scheduling, registration, tech checks, platform management and pre- and post-follow-up.
  • Other duties as assigned aligned within the objectives of GHSA.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of progressive experience in operations/administration. A bachelor’s degree is highly desirable. Experience working in a nonprofit or an association is preferred. The position requires up to 10% travel.

GHSA represents the state and territorial highway safety offices that implement programs to address behavioral and highway safety issues, including occupant protection, impaired driving and speeding. GHSA provides leadership and advocacy for the States and Territories to improve traffic safety, influence national policy, enhance program management, and promote best practices.
