The Teton County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) has organized a DUI task force that officially kicked off Aug. 1. The task force was the brainchild of Deputy Erik Elizondo, after he learned that 80% of crimes committed in Teton County involve alcohol in some way.

The three organizations have teamed up to once again fund state efforts to combat alcohol, cannabis and multiple-substance impaired driving, a persistent but preventable roadway safety threat.

As more people become familiar with cannabis and calls for national legalization grow, there remains a significant disconnect between people’s views on its use and safe driving.
