Director, Maine Bureau of Highway Safety
Lauren Stewart was elected as Vice Chair of the Governors Highway Safety Association in September 2022 after serving three terms as Secretary. She also currently leads GHSA's Federal Relations Committee.
Stewart has served as the Director of the Maine Department of Public Safety’s Bureau of Highway Safety since 2004. She has served GHSA in numerous capacities including as Regional Representative for Region 1, Chair of the Nominations Committee, and member of the Finance, Research, and Annual Meeting Committees.
Stewart brings to highway safety a combination of over 33 years of public and private experience in finance, safety, risk management, project management and system design and analysis.
