Director, Maine Bureau of Highway Safety
Lauren Stewart was re-elected to her third term as Secretary of the Governors Highway Safety Association in August 2020 after serving for the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 fiscal years. She also currently leads GHSA's Board Development Task Force.
Stewart has served as the Director of the Maine Department of Public Safety’s Bureau of Highway Safety since 2004. She has served GHSA in numerous capacities including as Regional Representative for Region 1, Chair of the Nominations Committee, and member of the Finance, Research, and Annual Meeting Committees.
Stewart brings to highway safety a combination of over 33 years of public and private experience in finance, safety, risk management, project management and system design and analysis.
