Chris Minar is GHSA’s Communications Manager and supports the development and execution of strategies to enhance the association’s visibility and increase awareness of highway safety priorities. In this role, he helps manage GHSA’s website, email communications, social media accounts and media relations efforts.

Chris continues to work on perfecting the art of effective communication and build upon his 10 years of experience in communications and marketing. He first expressed this passion for communication during an internship in the office of Congressman Richard Nugent of the U.S. House of Representatives. After graduating with a B.A. in communications from Thomas Edison State University, Chris spent five years at the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), where he began as the digital marketing coordinator and was later promoted to communications and marketing manager. Throughout his time at NCCAOM, Chris continued to hone his skills by earning his certification in Social Media Strategy (SMS) from the National Institute of Social Media (NISM).

In his free time, Chris enjoys playing golf, attending car shows and riding motorcycles. He was introduced to all three of these hobbies by his parents while growing up in Rockville, Md. From an early age, cars and motorcycles were interests deeply rooted in time with family and friends. When he was 19, Chris obtained his motorcycle license and has ridden over 50,000 miles on motorcycles since. As a motorcyclist, he has a different understanding of the dangers at play on our roadways and hopes that this perspective can add value to GHSA’s mission.
