The Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety (DADSS) program is developing a first-of-its-kind, in-vehicle alcohol detection system that will unobtrusively and passively determine when a driver is impaired with a BAC at or above .08%. This breakthrough technology is now being installed in test vehicles, and we invite states to partner with us to support these on-road trials. The data and feedback we gather will help us get this life-saving technology over the finish line – and will demonstrate your state’s commitment to using innovative solutions in the fight against drunk driving. There are opportunities to use NHTSA highway safety grant funding towards this effort. Contact Rob Strassburger at rstrassb@actsautosafety.org for information on how to partner.
