Overview

You will serve as a Program Analyst under the supervision of the Supervisory Program Analyst and the Director of Financial Management in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The office serves as the focal point for agency financial management. You will assist in the management of NHTSA’s Audit and Internal Control Programs, in addition to the support of the Departmental coordination of the Conference Approval process and provides program and policy guidance for legislative proposals.

Responsibilities

As a Program Analyst, you will:

  • Use knowledge of project and organizational management, GAO and OIG audit process, planning and performance measurement techniques.
  • Act as the NHTSA liaison for audits announced by the OIG and GAO that relates to topics including but not limited to agency program performance and agency administration.
  • Identify and define issues and problems, coordinate analysis by relevant organizations and individuals, and arrive at positions for recommendations to higher management.
  • Prepare written responses to inquiries from the Congress and the public concerning agency planning and policy issues.

Ideal Candidate: NHTSA is looking for an employee with good communication skills. In addition, incumbent should have a strong understanding of project and organizational management, preferably as it relates to GAO and OIG audit processes and an in-depth knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques sufficient to perform analytical assignments.
