The 2023 Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths Conference provides a forum for sharing information on best practices in engineering, enforcement, education, and emergency medical/health services and for identifying new approaches to reducing the number of traffic fatalities and life-changing injuries on Minnesota roads.

Conference highlights include:

  • An opening general session featuring Jermaine Galloway, known as the "Tall Cop," who will give attendees the ability, knowledge, and confidence to identify individuals who are abusing drugs or alcohol.
  • A day two general session on post-crash care from NASEMSO executive director Dia Gainor, who will discuss what can be done to improve 911, emergency medical services, and trauma systems to avoid preventable deaths after a crash occurs.
  • The presentation of our annual TZD awards.
  • Forty concurrent sessions on topics including traffic incident management, impaired driving, vulnerable road users, child passenger safety, automotive technologies, intersection safety, and more.
